You're exactly right about those who downplay injustice in the name of "reassurance." Injustice is merely something in movies, comics, and history books to so many folks. And sometimes the ones who do recognize it are even still too shocked to speak. Too often I meet people who shake their head in solidarity, only to trail off as if there is nothing to be done. It's quite challenging to illuminate injustice without demoralizing your audience. You have to give them some kind of tool or protocol, or some reminder of why the injustice hurts so much - the beauty will never die, but we could certainly miss it in our lifetimes if we dont do something.

I am excited to check out your other music suggestions. I hope to write some articles about music myself! I have a small home studio but little time to record anything original anymore. But Medium is turning out a new creative space for me and I'd like to share and learn all kinds of things here.
